The Spartan Blades Ares Fighter/Combat Utility fixed blade personifies its namesake: Ares the Greek God of War. This warrior was brought to life for use by and with input from the US Special Forces. It utilizes a saber ground, drop point blade for strength and durability in all conditions while checkered Micarta scales and a notched thumb ramp provide a superior grip. The angled handle enhances the ergonomics as well as efficient power transfer during martial use. This version comes with a Black DLC PVD coated blade, textured Black Canvas Micarta handle scales and black nylon sheath.

Blade: The CPM-S35VN spear point blade has a spear-like saber grind which offers excellent piercing performance and durability while still maintaining good slicing performance. Black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) PVD coating leaves a highly wear-resistant finish that is both non-reflective and resistant to corrosion, enhancing performance. A jimped thumb ramp paired with a forward finger choil all for good control for fine work or fast maneuvering of the blade.

Handle: The full tang extends through two chamfered canvas Micarta handle scales which have been milled with a checkered pattern for added traction. Slim handles make for easier carry while a pommel swell and dual finger choils provide a secure grip. An exposed pommel end can be utilized as an impact tool and has a nylon lanyard attached for added security during use.

Sheath: Carries in a MOLLE compatible nylon belt sheath with adjustable Pull-the-Dot snap closure and ‘silent’ felt liner.

CPM S35VN: Designed to offer improved toughness over CPM S30V, S35VN substitutes niobium for vanadium delivering an increase in toughness of about 15-20% with no appreciable loss of wear resistance. Increased toughness means better resistance to edge chipping. Corrosion resistance is on par with S30V.
