The L.U.D.T. (Large Underwater Demolition Team) out the side automatic knife model from Microtech has been a favorite among Spec Ops and first responders for nearly 20 years. This version features a partially serrated drop point blade of Black Coated CTS-204P and a grooved OD Green aircraft grade aluminum handle.
Brand new, direct from Microtech Knives, USA.
Blade: The shape of the LUDT is all about utility, offering just over three inches of cutting edge and a piercing pointy tip. It’s great for everyday slicing, slashing and penetration cuts whenever called upon. A little over an inch of notching on the crowned spine creates a welcomed thumb ramp. Built from high performance, American CTS-204P stainless steel with a durable, non-reflective, black poly-ceramic Cerakote the edge is razor sharp with a section of serrations for making fast work of fibrous materials. The blade deploys fast and smooth with a press of the button on the front scale near the pivot. Press it in again and fold the blade back in to close.
Handle: The handle is constructed of OD Green anodized, aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum for lightweight dependability. It has a slightly notched finger choil below the pivot along with machined grooves and jimping strategically placed to ensure a solid grip in any environment. The LUDT is fitted with Microtech’s proprietary hardware and pocket clip. A small black nylon lanyard is attached for added security.
Each LUDT is individually serialized and dated on the front of the blade.
CTS-204P: A highly wear-resistant, powder metallurgy stainless tool steel, the steel contains a large volume of extremely hard vanadium carbides which provide excellent wear resistance. CTS-204P has some of the highest chromium content of a high-vanadium stainless steel currently available. The chromium-rich matrix provides outstanding corrosion resistance. Analogs to CTS-204P include CPM-20CV and Bohler M390.
