The Kabar TDI Investigator Knife is a compact everyday carry fixed blade that is also an ideal go-to for close quarter encounters with suspects. Designed by John Benner, founder and owner of the Tactical Defense Institute, the TDI knife is a well-concealed package when carried with multiple carry options to meet the users needs. A pistol-grip design assures a fast draw and secure grip in extreme scenarios while being comfortable for general utility work. The TDI Investigator delivers a slightly longer blade and shorter handle than the Small TDI for better concealment. This version comes with a black coated, plain edge, AUS8A stainless steel blade, black Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon handles and polymer sheath.
Brand new, direct from Kabar Knives.
Blade: Thick, full tang construction makes the drop point blade highly durable while the high hollow grind delivers a fine piercing point and powerful slicing performance for such a compact blade. A durable black traction coating delivers enhanced corrosion resistance along with being discreetly non-reflective. The blade angle makes for an ergonomic cutting experience for comfort during extended use.
Handle: The full tang supports durable, weather resistant and contoured FRN handle scales, attached with black stainless hardware. An index groove, strategically placed jimping and molded micro texture offer a secure grip in adverse conditions while the pistol-like grip angle is both ergonomic and intuitive to draw and use.
Sheath: Carries via a rugged, Glass-filled Nylon Sheath with removable, discreet carry clip.
Japanese AUS-8 Stainless Steel: a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel offers excellent balance of performance: it has good toughness, corrosion resistance and sharpening response with similar edge retention to 440C.
