The latest model from Hinderer Knives is a medium-sized EDC now featuring Maroon Micarta known as the MP-1 (Modular Platform) Flipper. This brand new knife utilizes Hinderer’s new HMBS or Hinderer Modular BackSpacer that allows the user to easily customize a one-piece machined backspacer in the handle. Dis-assembly of the knife is not required to introduce a variety of colors as well as a lanyard or bottle opener backspacer kit.
The Blade: A utility sheepsfoot style a bit upswept for substantial slicing power. Fully stonewash finished with dual thumb stud and flipper openers for smooth action. A notched thumb ramp on the spine aids the great feel in-hand on the MP-1. An internal set of stud blade stops in the blade allow easier access and smoother operation of the external thumb studs. Flipping action is quite smooth and a pleasure to operate. Slight wrist action may be required depending on strength of flipping finger.
The Handle: A thick slab of tumbled titanium forms the frame lock and has Hinderer’s pattern texture with grooved and smooth edges for a comfortable grip. The frame lock is smooth and easy to operate. The show side is a two-part titanium liner with grooved maroon micarta handle scale. Ergonomics on the MP-1 are fantastic and should fit well in most medium-large hands. The installed titanium Backspacer System features an external lanyard hole. It is secured to two standoffs with a single screw for easy customization.
The new Micarta MP-1 titanium folder from Hinderer Knives continues the innovation and customizability you’ve come to know and love. Includes a titanium pocket clip for tip up or down carry.
